A Bad Monkey and a Cunning Lion

One day, a monkey was caught by a lion while he was walking in the forest.  The monkey begged the lion, “Don’t kill me.  If you let me go, I’ll help you catch a rabbit.”

Immediately, the monkey got a good idea.  He dug a keep hole and then covered it with some leaves.  At the same time, the lion hid himself behind the tree because he wanted to see how the monkey caught the rabbit.

Soon, a blind rabbit was coming.  The monkey pretended to be kind and asked the rabbit to walk straight ahead.  As planned, the rabbit fell into the hole.

At this moment, the lion jumped out and carelessly fell into the hole.

The monkey said proudly to the lion, “See, you stupid lion! You fell into my hole.  Please save yourself!”

Then, the monkey went away happily!

Going Hiking

Last Wednesday, I went hiking with my brother.  Since it was a weekday, there were only a few people hiking.  Suddenly, I tripped over a stone carelessly.  I fell down and hurt my leg.  Immediately, I asked my brother to call mum and dad.  He looked for it for a while and said, “Oh! I’ve forgotten to bring it!” I was very nervous to hear that.

So we decided to sit on the ground and wait for someone to help.  We had waited for a long time but no one passed by.  Luckily, an old man appeared.  We waved to him and became near.  We asked him to lend us his mobile phone.  At last, we could contact our parents and went back home safely.

A Letter to Simon

7^th August 2012

Dear Simon,

An unhappy incident happened in my home yesterday.  Let me share it now.

While I was playing video games in my bedroom, Mum was cooking delicious dinner for us in our open kitchen.  The food smelt nice!

Suddenly, the phone rang.  Mum immediately answered the call.  However, Mum forgot to turn off the fire.  It was my father’s calling, so they talked on the phone for a long while.

Suddenly, I smelt some smoke coming from the kitchen, but Mum was talking so happily that she didn’t smell it.

Unluckily, a fire broke out in the kitchen.  Both of us were frightened.  I called the police at once.  Luckily the fire was put out.  If I had not discovered the fire so early, I would have lost a lovely home.

Last week, I went to the theme park with my parents to visit the pandas.  On the way, we were very excited because we had waited for a long time about the trip.

Soon, we went to the glass house where the pandas lived.  However, the panda was sleeping.  I was unhappy because I wanted to take photos of him.

To wake him up, I hit the glass with my water bottle.  The noise made the panda angry so he made some strange sound.

Suddenly, the panda rushed towards me.  I was scared to death.  I learned that I should not disturb the animals when they were sleeping.
