An Embarrassing Moment

One day, Mike took part in a volleyball competition. Each team was doing its best to get higher scores because they wanted to be the champion.

Meanwhile, Mike had a chance to hit the ball. He wanted to show his skill, so he jumped high up and used all his strength to make a spike. Suddenly, he heard everyone burst into laughter. Unluckily, he knew that his sport pants split, so his underpants were shown to everyone. He was embarrassed.

Immediately, he hurried back home. Finally, after knowing what had happened, her mum scolded him for his carelessness.

Exploding Papayas

One day, Alan’s family visited Grandma, who lived in a village in the New Territories. His parents were busy talking with Grandma so they ordered Alan and his brother Zeto to play outside.

‘I’m bored. Let’s have some fun!’ Alan suggested.

‘Oh! It’s a good idea!’ Zeto replied excitedly.

They looked around and saw some ripe and big papayas.

‘I know it!’ Alan shouted loudly and looked cunning. He bought some firecrackers from a nearby store.

‘What’re you going to do with the firecrackers?’ Zeto asked and looked puzzled.

Alan giggled and said, ‘It’s a secret. Just wait and see!’ Shortly after that, Alan picked two papayas from a tree behind them. Then, Alan ordered Zeto to insert the firecrackers into the papayas. Zeto finally understood Alan’s naughty trick.

They lit the firecrackers and ran away quickly. They hid behind a strong tree and observed nervously what was going to happen.

‘BOMB! BOMB!’ The papayas exploded one by one loudly. Seeing that, they were thrilled with joy.

While they were laughing, the owner appeared suddenly. He roared furiously at them. ‘Thieves! Thieves!’ He caught them immediately.

The two boys were afraid. The owner scolded them harshly and informed their parents about their misbehaviour.

His mother punished them by not allowing them to play video games for a month. Finally, they learned that they were wrong and should respect the property of others.

-+An Unhappy Picnic+-

One day, Michael went on a picnic with his family. On the day before, his Mum prepared some food for the picnic. They took a bus to a country park in Sai Kung. They felt excited.

When they arrived, they did not notice that some monkeys were looking at them. They put all the food on the table. Then, they went to play happily. While their parents were chatting under the tree, the kids were playing badminton.

After some time, they were hungry. Suddenly, they found that all the food disappeared. They were sad and angry. Michael looked around. ‘Look! Some monkeys are stealing our food!’ Michael shouted.

Finally, they had an unhappy picnic without food.

Joining a Club

I am Sharon.  Last year, I joined a drawing club because I like drawing comic characters very much such as Luffy and Sanji.  I joined it together with Tim, who is my best friend. I have learnt a lot in this club.  For example, I have improved my drawing skills and I have made some new friends who share the same interest as I do.  I think this club is an awesome one because the teachers are kind and patient.  I hope I can join a similar club again next year when I am in secondary one.
