Honesty is the Best Policy

Last week, Bruce played baseball with his friends in a playground near his home. They were playing happily. However, one of his friends Mark was too excited and hit the ball hard.

Unluckily, the ball flew far away and broke the window glass of a nearby house. They were scared. ‘Oh! What can we do now?’ Bruce said worriedly.

‘Why don’t we apologize to the house owner?’ Mark suggested.

‘Maybe we will be punished by the owner!’ another boy wondered.

‘But we should admit our mistakes, right?’ Bruce asked.

They all agreed and immediately went to the house. They knocked the door nervously.

Suddenly, a kind, old woman opened the door and smiled at them. They said sorry to her sincerely. Finally, the old woman forgave them.

Bruce learnt that they should be honest and admit the wrongdoing.

A letter to a pen friend in Canada

18th December 2012

Dear Jane,

I turned 12 yesterday, and I had a wonderful day!

To celebrate my birthday, my parents brought me to a famous French restaurant for lunch. I was excited. I had a steak for the main course and a Tiramisu cheesecake for the dessert! They were yummy and I was content.

After the special lunch, we went to the toyshop. My parents bought me a soft toy for my birthday present. Guess what? It’s a cute teddy bear. I love it so much!

In the evening, I barbecue with my friends at Shatin. Suddenly, they took a birthday cake to celebrate with me. I felt surprised.

Love,
Jaffer

The Happy Prince - Part 2

The Happy Prince – Part 2

After the Happy Prince and the swallow died, God said to them, “You two don’t deserve to die.  Now, I send you back to the Earth and you two will be very rich so you can help people again.” Suddenly, the Happy Prince became the real prince in the palace and the swallow stood on his shoulder.

At the beginning, they helped a lot of people happily, but they spent huge sum of money every day. Later, the king, who was the prince’s father, knew what happened and was crossed. “It’s you who teach my son to waste money! I will put you inside the cage,” the king said angrily to the swallow.

After the people of the town knew that, they pleaded the king to release the bird. They sat in front of the palace and went on a hunger strike. Finally, the king was touched. He regretted and said sorry to the prince and the bird.

At the end, the people of the town loved the royal family forever.

Kenny & a Poor Rabbit

Yesterday, Kenny was on his way to school. He walked past a park. Suddenly, he saw a poor rabbit which was injured. He came closer and found that its ears were tied up by a rubber band. Immediately, he removed the rubber band carefully.

Then, he took the rabbit to a supermarket quickly. He bought some carrots. He ran back to the park and fed it. The rabbit ate the carrots happily. At that moment, he looked at his watch and was shocked to know that it was too late. ‘I must go now, but I can’t leave you here!’ he told the rabbit. After that, he put the rabbit into his school bag carefully. He ran to school as fast as he could.

After fifteen minutes, he arrived at the school. The principal saw him and said angrily, ‘Why are you so late?!’ He replied, ‘I helped an injured rabbit…’ ‘Oh, you are a kind student! Go back to your classroom and have lessons.’
